  1. Hi Zue, I love your semolina or sugi cakes.
My wife makes sugi once awhile bila dia ada mood. Cake form. But first time I see cookies like yours.

Holy Smoke, imagine if under different circumstances you had invited me home for dinner, your ikan masak nanas asam, followed by this sugi cookies, habia la cherita! Ha ha ha.
Kena sangkut big time, nama mak pun lupa.

Zue, just as you left your eloquent comment other day in my pondok, I popped in a new cherita.

So, if waiting for your cakes to warm up in oven, drop by when free....
    Have a nice day, Lee.

  2. Zue, specially for you....you always buat saya jalan atas ayer with your warm thoughts and compliments....so I must goreng and stir fry you abit more, ARHAAA HA HA.

Here are 2 recipes for you. They the best...
Try this....and your loved ones at home will put you on a pedestal, guaranteed!

Your friends will have to take a number to come visit you too....but kasi saya chance potong Q, huh? Ha ha.

From the World's most famous hotel.....Drum roll, please. Tadaaaaa!

1/ Waldorf Astoria (New York) chocolate cake.

    2 c flour
    1 c sugar
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp soda
    1 c mayonnaise
    4 tbsp cocoa
    1 tsp salt
    1 c water
    2 tsp vanilla

Mix well and bake 30 minutes or until done in 350 degree oven.
    ICING:
    2 c sugar
    1/2 c milk
    1/4 c butter

Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute. Let cool until thick. Add nuts if desired. Beat slightly and spread.
Then send telegram to Incik Lee.

    2/ Here's my heart scones.
    65 g : Sugar
    65 g : Butter
    1 - : Eggs
    450 g : Flour
    30 g : Baking powder
    250 ml : Milk
    65 g : Raisins

    1 - : Eggs
    salt, pepper to taste

Pre heat the oven to 200c.
Combine the butter and sugar in a cake mixer. Mix until fluffy and creamy, then add the egg.
Add the flour and baking powder and mix until a crumble forms.

Pour in the milk and mix to a smooth texture. Do not overwork as the mixture will toughen. Add the raisins.
Lightly flour a smooth surface and roll out the dough to about 3cm thick.

Use the cookie cutter to cut out individual pieces. Glaze with the egg mixture.
Place the scones on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool and serve, ideally, with kaya, jam, clotted cream, farm-fresh butter and a hot pot of tea.

Then when put first one in mouth, you close your eyes, your heart going 'budi boom, budi boom'....you say say, 'ahhhhhh seddap nya', think of me fooling around with very rich women (new posting). Tengok la, ada commercial break, ha ha.

Have fun Zue....send me telegram when you do....and standby get hug from hubby....maybe more than that, *wink*. Lee.
Saya boleh ke? Heh heh heh.

  5. hiya Lee!
thank you for sharing these recipes, one of these days I would surely try them with the other two recipes and by the way, if you do have some free time, perhaps you could drop by in my previous entry titled 'glad to be part of it' where I wrote quite a lenghty comment about the lady in the black Alfa Romeo!I am afraid that I have to burst your bubbles there....hehe.....
As for the photos of my ayam masak kerutuk and ketam masak cili and my cakes too, aahhhh, what can I say, I am flattered that you wanted to put them in your next postings, I'll look forward to that.
to enlighten this budak cina from Penang ( hehe ), ayam masak kerutuk is a taditional dish from Kelantan, my home town.( remember one of your dates with one lady at the Pantai cinta Berahi....that wasn't me...another hehe.... I was still running around in my selipar jepun with my two pony tails, playing galah panjang with my friends, or roasting some cashew nuts in the kuali using some sand. ( and there you were, frolicking with gorgeous ladies all around the world, sweeping them off their feet with your smooth talks and ballroom dancing moves, hey speaking of dancing, I love to dance too, especially the twist and the chacha and agogo , please don't let me start on dance cos this would go on and on)
I dunno why it is called kerutuk , but it is so yummy, and I think what makes it different from the other curries are the use of kerisek and galangal. It is nicer using beef too.

the next time you come, don't bother taking a number, come right in and you will be served with an array of selection of 'heaven on earth' delicacies from Zue's Oven from cheesecakes to brownies and cupcakes to cookies and one more thing, chocolate mousse.
that reminds me,my youngest had been pestering me to make her chocolate mousse and I might just do that perhaps tomorrow cos tonite I have marble cheese brownies to bake.
thanx again for the recipes, for the nice words and for dropping by It's always good to have you around. You have that 'feel good' effect on people.
may life always be gentle with you Lee
    Ciao!Au revoir!

  6. Hi Zue, have read your Alfa Rome reply, ha ha.
I knew couple of Malay ladies long ago driving Alfa Romeos. Waaa, real sexy, hot numbers too. But da kawain, so as I'm not King Kong, I ta'hantar my usual red rose resume, ha ha.

Zue, x'cuse this poor manners, not my parents fault, but you said you retired, or almost retiring age.
I know Malaysia retiring age is 50. So you a few miles from that, I guess.
And were you educated in US or o/seas. There are very few, count on fingers the blogger friends who popped into my pondok that writes eloquently....you one of them.
As well, besides, you instil humour too. Love women like you.

Old days, I dated more Malay ladies, then others, simply because Malay people, they have that down to earth humour.
And dating Malay women....always fun, as they will laugh at my University of Pasar Malam, sebelum Merdeka bahasa, and we chat champor English and Malay, and their humour.....always laughing.

Oh ya, even dated a few in tudungs, ada cherita re these but cannot not see sunlight in my blog, ha ha.
Anyway, always enjoy your replies and comment.

Love women who are expressive, unlike those that leaves one sentence, or just 2 words comment. Cheh! These the women I will never date. Tentu very yawwwnnny evening, go home early makan kwachi watch TV, ha ha.
    Have a nice day, Lee.
