Anis found out about me through her friend's FB ( her friend's photos of my red and white Happy Birthday Love" cuppies- thanx Shasha for the intrduction )).We started with smses and followed by e-mails until yesterday , I finally put a face to the name.

I wasn't very familiar with Perlis, but thankfully a good friend willingly accompanied me to make the delivery. Thank you kak tuni dearest, a friend in need is a friend indeed, that's what i can say about my friend, my sister ( different mak and abah...)Alhamdulillah, we , Kak Tuni, her daughter, my daughter and me, arrived safely in Kangar after less than an hour's drive and met the sweet and petite anis with her son and hubby.













A very simple omnitrix design ....it is called omnitrix , isn't it?:-) I don't know if anyone noticed or not but Astro was having a BEN 10 marathon over at one of the cartoon channels and almost daily I saw them with my kids. Do yo know that there are a few versions of BEN 10? Small BEN 10, teen BEN10, BEN 10 Alien Force and soon, BEN 10 Alien something....

it's her son's birthday and her MIL wanted to make " makan2" for her grandson and Adik thought of me, to make the birthday cake for her youngest son.

Since this is rather short notice, she wouldn't mind any cartoon characters would do. I bought this at the nearest shop and this was the only character available besides the Disney Princesses which wouldn't be suitable for a birthday boy. No BEN 10, no Upin Ipin, just Transformers and fortunately Adik didn't mind.

POWER PUFF GIRLS

This is my third Power Puff Girls. The first one I made for my daughter's 5th birthday in January, followed by my friend's daughter's birthday in February and now another friend's daughter who celebrated her 11th birthday on 13th August 2009. All three of us have one thing in common, we did our A-Levels at the same place, so we know one another for quite a long time, since 1984.

However, as usual, work, housework, family, wouldn't allow us to meet as often as we would have wished for. We only managed to meet during special occasions like raya or open houses and perhaps, now we could meet slightly more often than before provided the kids are celebrating their birthdays and mummies dearests would order from Auntie Zue, then we will meet more....:-)

I met my other friend, Nani , a hard working boss and a very busy woman ( she has her own practise) just last week when we went to "An evening with Dr Fatimah Az-zahra at Holiday Villa". ( a really wonderful and beneficial evening).

Na, Syafia's mum on the other hand, is like me, 24/7 at home but our time and schedule are really packed with being drivers to the kids, chef, housekeeper, companion. Yup, we wear so many caps with so many different posts at home but it's the post that we willingly took, for we get to be closer to the kids and will always be there if they need us, insyaAllah.

Everytime my son and daughter "bullied' ( menyakat) their adik, Batrisyia, it always reminds of the scene from that movie where the brothers would bully Drew Barrymore, threatening to take away her doll if she let out their secret.

Hadeef BEN 10's birthday cake

Cikgu Syida came to see me last week to place an order for a BEN 10 birthday cake for her son, Hadeef who will be four this coming December. but it's august now? this is a very early celebration. being a sweet and loving mum that she is, she wanted her son to celebrate his birthday with his kindie friends since the kindie will be closed in December ( school holidays )

Hadeef came to collect his BEN 10 cake. His mum told me that he would normally wake up late but today he took his bath very early when his mum told him that they were going to collect his cake. Can imagine how excited he was and how glad and pleased I was seeing the look on his face when he saw his cake.as you can see in this picture.

Nak yang tu jugak....

"I want that cake, the one with Snow White on it", a sweet, tiny , little voice from a four year old Iffah Raihana to her aunt and uncle.
" Hello, Cekmekzue? My niece wanted that cake, the one on your biz card, the one next to Power Puff Girl" Oh that one..
"She insisted on that snow white cake but it doesn't have to be exactly like that one, as long as there's a picture of Snow White, will do..."

Since Iffah's aunt was not familiar with my house, we agreed to meet up at the K*C carpark for the delivery. Such a sweet and nice lady, a sister to my ex-office mate.

I hope Iffah will be happy with this not just snow White but also three other Disney Princesses cake.

Introducing...Dorami....

Doraemon's little sister.

I never knew she existed until,
"Zue, I want to order cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. Can you pls make me Doraemon's sister" and I went, "Ha? what?", with a totally blank expression ( of course, she couldn't see, we were on the phone).
I didn't know that Doraemon has a little sister and she is called Dorami.
Asked my kids about Dorami and they knew! Sure enough Doraemon has a sister, they even showed me the photo in their comic book. Not only that , do you know that Doraemon also has seven friend who look like him , not exactly like him, but there are seven others, for crying out loud!

Immediately I googled to find out more about Dorami.

This is what I found out:( from the google search )
Dorami is the little sister of Doraemon. The only reason she is not blue is because she didn't have her ears bitten off by rats. She looks a lot like Doraemon, don't you think? Dorami has all the abilities that Doraemon has, including the fourth dimensional pocket. She is nice and not as grouchy as Doraemon. She does not live with Nobita and Doraemon. She lives with the original master of Doraemon in the 22nd century. She only appered in situations that are uncontrollable by Doraemon.

this is her brother, the famous Doraemon. I don't think he needs any introduction.

It's been a while since I last use piping jelly for my deco. I remembered doing it the first time, I didn't know what piping jelly is, what nozzle or piping bag is. They were alien to me. This was less than a year ago. I wanted to deco the cupcakes for my daughter's Sukaneka ( last August ) and so I asked the owner of the baking supplier's shop, how to make the deco and he willingly tell me how to use the piping jelly and so I started buying piping bags, colouring and nozzle ( that is for buttercream deco ), trial and error here and there, still not much of an expert though.

This set is for makan2 di rumah because the other 50 cuppies are for Siti Aisyah's friends at ther school.

The whole set, ready to be picked up by my friend. She wanted to collect them very early in the morning before sending her daughters to school.In fact, they were already waiting for me outside the gate before I reached home after sending my daughter to school. She told me that both her daughters woke up earlier than usual today because of the cupcakes. They were so excited to see their Dorami.Exactly, last four months, My friend, Nanie , ordered almost the same set for her younger daughter's bitrthday, Fatimah Az-Zahra only that Fatimah wanted Power Puff girls. i think everybody knows Power Puff Girls.

Here's siti Aisyah with her little sister, Fatimah Az-Zahra( beautiful names) in my kitchen( a bit messy , didn't have time to clear it after the deco last night).I hope I have made their day with their Dorami and certainly have made my day seeing their happy expressions upon seeing the cuppies.

BEN 10 ADAM & ALIFF

" Zue, buat BEN 10, simple2 je, bagi ada muka BEN 10 and tulis Happy Birthday, tak payah write their age. nak buat untuk dua2 sekali., "

I came across BEN 10 cake in sugarpink icing before ( very nicely done Shashue! ), so I guess this BEN 10 is inspired by her, except that mine is not 100% fondant. A 9"/ about 1.4kg chocolate cake layered and glazed with ganache using buttercream as the green and white grass border and using fondant for BEN 10 image and alphabets.

Adam is 8 and Aliff is 14. Mummy dearest really love you guys. She went out to collect this cake without telling them that she's collecting this birthday cake for them. It's a surprise for the boys! I made the Snow White cake earlier for her one and only daughter ( tak nak tambah another princess ke Zah?) Thanx for giving me the opportunities to be creative (trying to be )and to try new things.

To Adam and Aliff, Happy Belated Birthday, be good sons to your Mum and Dad. thank you Zah......

While I was preparing this chocolate cake on Friday, I received a rather shocking news from fellow colleague, a friend of ours who went into labour the day before, had to undergo the C section due to some complication, is in ICU and desperately in need of blood ,type B. My heart went out for her and her husband and eldest daughter who is also Batrisyia's age. I prayed that she will be alright. Around noon, I went over to the private medical center and was informed by her husband that she was in the OT, went in around 10 am. Went over to the nursery to have a look at her newborn, it's a boy, that makes it a pair, her eldest is a girl and now it's a boy and this boy needs his mother, I couldn't help but felt a slight pain in my heart looking at this helpless , cute and innocent baby, no, insyaAllah with Allah's willing, his mother will make it and I know she will because she's a fighter, though sweet and gentle , she's a very strong willed young lady. I know that she will pull through.Went to visit her again yesterday evening around 6.30 pm. She's sleeping because she's on sedation, met with her two sisters on the way to the ICU, we spoke, comforting and consoling one another .

She undergone another operation on Sunday and I visited her again in the evening. "All's well", I've been told by her Kak Long. She showed much progress. syukur alhamdulillah. Sue dear, we all pray for you, you be strong and I know you are and hope to see your sweet smiling face soon.

BEN 10 cake, no,,it's FAHMI 10 cake

"What does you son like?", i asked that lady Dr. " i leave it to your creativity" Oh no! me and my limited skills and creativity, told her that I would try my best cos I have only just ventured into this cake decorating world. so I asked around, googled for designs and deco and finally I thot why not BEN 10?It's the "in" thing for little boys nowadays, but I was worried, it might be so for other kids but maybe not for her Fahmi who is turning 10, so I thot of asking her just to make sure and she replied " think so" and I went ahead with my plan for BEN 10 , only that I did not really plan to draw BEN 10 , instead i wrote "FAHMI 10" in BEN 10 colour ( more or less) for him and just put small photos on the sides cos i felt that less is sometimes more. Hope that The Lady Dr and her son like it.

The two cakes, cheesecake and chocolate cake, one flavour, the former was requested by the father and the latter, by the son .

She also requested a cheesecake for her 8 year old daughter Fatin, that too was up to me.... and on a cheesecake? not much can i think of but in order not to disappoint her, I came up with this... the colourful friend, remember the cartoon which i drew earlier, Zainah, if you are reading this, I make it happen, you did suggest that I might use that as one of the designs on my cake which I also thot of and I did, well, a little improvisation along the way .Not as good as the one drawn on paper, very tricky . Thank you Dr Zaharidah for the order, we may only have just met through these cakes but it seemed like we've known each other for quite sometime. Really appreciate your support and hope you and all the family will enjoy the cakes.

One chocolate cake with Power Puff Girls ( the girls are a bit tanned, supposedly had been sunbathing somewhere ( actually the colour didn't come out the way I wanted it ) and 50 pcs of chocolate cupcakes to be shared with classmates.

Fatimah Az-Zahra is seven today and mummy dearest asked me to make this PPG cakes and cupcakes for her youngest daughter. I really love that name. It's beautiful. I hope you like this PPG

Batrisyia's Power Puff Girls

dated 21st Jan 2009 at 5.30 am, drew these three girls, Bubble, Blossom and Buttercup for my daughter's brthday on the same day.

Voila! the girls are all coloured with piping jellies with small blobs of pink/white buttercream borders with drops of smarties at the side .
