chocolate cheesecake- improvised

the recipe called for a pice of chocolate cake as a base and I have a few chocolate cupcakes extra and i thought , "Why not?", rather than let them go to waste, i will substitute the chocolate cake with cupcakes instead

the chocolate cream cheese mixture

since I only had a few cupcakes let, and not enough for the 9 inches cake tin, i decided to use the 8 inches instead, press it to the base of the cake tin lined with aluminium foil

pour the chocolate cream cheese mixture on top of the cupcake chocolate base

water bath it in the oven at 140 degrees for about one hour

leave it to cool at room temperature first, then only chill it in the fridge, and ready to be eaten.

i am very pleased with the result, I only got to taste it the following day cos i brought this chocolate cheesecake to my brother's house in Sg buloh and we only ate it the following day.

OCC with fondant birthday greeting for a friend to celebrate her son's birthday. Thank yo Amnah and Happy 10th birthday Mohamad ALiff Amsyar.

Mdm Chew wanted me to cut this OCC into 24 slices for her. She's the owner of the beauty spa very near my house. I used to go there for facial, back massage, sauna, pedicure and manicure,you name it, they have everything, errr,long.... long....long....time ago , once or twice, in a blue moon, by the way, when does the moon ever turn blue?

A slice of this scrumptious oreo chocolate cheesecake wouldn't hurt your diet, I think, indulge yourself in this 'heaven on earth 'creation cheesecake once in a while, but not once in a blue moon ya......:-)that would be too long...hehe...

certain places had certain effect on people. they brought back memories, happy, sad, joy and happiness, a feeling of loneliness, romanticness ( is there such words?). Venice, made me feel romantic, it's empty going to Venice(long long time ago ) without your loved ones. I am not going to talk about Venice, let's leave that place for the time being and talk about a place closer to home, Langkawi.Two words or two things I like about Langkawi ..

perfume , don't we ladies just love the smell of perfume, well... this mama especially, you name it.....Chloe, Chanel No.5, Dior Addict, Miss Dior, Romance, Loewe, Deep Red, Nina Ricci, 212, LouLou, Armani, Kenzo, and the list is endless........their bottles are nice too...... the other is: chocolate
Perfume and chocolate or chocolate and perfume in no particular order.If you were given a choice, which one would you choose between the two? I couldn't remember when or how I started my crave for chocolate, and I think I had written somewhere about my relationship with chocolate, in my drawer at the office ( then ), always have a stock of Kitkat or Kinder or Ritter Sport in the minifridge upstairs and a few downstairs and so the love for chocolate doesn't just stop there, chocolate cake, brownies, chocolate fudge mousse, chocolate eclair, and this one, oreo chocolate cheesecake( OCC ). Who ordered these OCC? .
CT who had just returned from her honeymoon in Langkawi ( that made me talk about Langkawi in the first place ) and I remembered my honeymoon in Langkawi too, errrr...15 years ago.....the small chalet, the beach, pantai Chenang, the..........

Anyway, the other OCC was for Yong, my Srikandi friend, who ordered it for their jamuan, a slight miscommunication with the sms and I only made one instead of two, because no mention of '2' in the sms, next time I need to clarify with my customers to avoid dissapointment on both parties.

Thank you pu3@ Puteri, very cute, at first I was wondering what 'pu3' is when she wrote it in her sms and after realising that her name is puteri liyana then only i could figure out that' pu3' is for 'puteri'. sometimes when i read the emails or messages on tv with all the short forms i just didn't understand them , these modern computer age kids, they are so advanced and so IT savvy.

I met pu3 in my facebook, she first wrote and enquired about my OCC in the FB and finally decided to order it, after getting a recommendation from Ti.Thank you Ti for introducing and giving positive comments about my OCC to pu3. After meeting her yesterday, then only I knew that we had met before, yes, that was before I decided to leave the corporate world, the 9 to 5 job that I 've had for the past 16 years.

pu3 voiced her interest in learning how to deco cupcakes and hopefully we can do it soon. I would set a date for cupcake deco class soon. anyone interested can leave messages in my emails.

Aniza's oreo choc cheesecake for hubby dearest

This is what we called a small world. The lady who ordered this oreo chocolate cheesecake for her hubby dearest's birthday on 5th jan is on confinement, "berpantang" for the birth of her second daughter. therefore she said that her sister would be collecting the birthday cheesecake on her behalf.

when I opened the gate, in came a boy, my son's friend, his primary school friend and I said to my son, :" Abang, your friend is here!"

Guess what he said, "he's coming for the cake".

His mum was my son's primary school teacher. It's good to see her again, cantik manis orangnya.we only exchanged a few words because they were in a hurry, to surprise the birthday man.Tak sangka lah pulak Aniza's sister tu , my son's cikgu dulu...

sori about the writing on the cheesecake. I's a bit dificult to write using buttercream on oreo chocolate cheesecake . perhaps next time, if I were to write on it, I must place something, a piece of chocolate or fondant maybe, then it'd be much easier.

Lucky kids you are, having such a wonderful and thoughtful mummy.Lucky too for being able to come back every weekends or perhaps every other weekends, unlike me when I was at my hostel , it being hundreds of kilometres away from my home.....

Yong's countless number of orders already. Her kids love this oreo chocolate cheesecake.

My life at the hostel? Let's see how many years ago. All the 10 fingers and 10 toes are not enough to count the number of years that had passed me by since I had my last sleep in my double decker bed in my dorm C2-6 at the C block or Blok Mahsuri ( for yellow team), had my last supper of one mug of hot Milo with "biskut mayat" or Thye Hong biscuit ( I think it is called Dan*ne now ), my last breakfast( will not forget the nasi lemak which we used to "tapau" since there were so many of us who skipped breakfast on Friday , being a weekend there), lunch, tea and dinner at the Y shaped building called dining hall with the ever friendly makciks at the back who lovingly slaved themselves over the hot stove preparing our meals without fail.

Yes, I grew up with nasi kawah, queueing up during lunch time with our blue tray, fork and spoon and a mug each for our lunch, seated breakfast and dinner ( a table for 10 ) with the prefects at the head table in front to read out any announcements and the most awaited part was the list of recipients for parcels and registered letters.

See that petite little girl wearing a pair of school uniform walking or sometimes trotting happily with her friends, her "kencang 40" hair style ,(she adores Lady Diana, the late Princess of Wales) with big glasses on :-) chatting and sharing jokes, having group study, watching "Arjuna Membawa Cinta" or some Rano Karno movies at the basketball court under the moonlight and bright stars, washing her dirty clothes in the laundry room at the ground floor, racing to the bathroom to book her turn for her bath by hanging her towel on the door, walking around the school compund while waiting for dinner, so on and so on...........

That little girl does not wear her school uniform now, no more kencang 40 hair style but she wears it long and wavy now but most of the time , up in bun or tied up so that it won't get in the way of her baking and cake decorating.....that little girl is me...:-)little no more, a few kgs more than before:-)

Yong, my fellow srikandi, though we didn't share the same dorm, let alone the same block because she was in Block D, Dang Anum, neither do we share the same classroom but we did share the same dining hall, the same quadrangle, the same school song, the same principal, and the same memories of living and staying in a hostel and now we share the same passion in eating! eating cheesecake I mean.

Mengidam....nasib baik anaknye yang mengidam, bukan Maknyer.....tapi kalau maknyer pun apa salahnyer...

speaking of cravings, I was glad that I didn't crave for the impossible during my three pregnancies.When I was pregnant with my eldest, during the first trimester, the alah2 and muntah2 time, I didn't know what to eat. So we went out for dinner. I didn't know what to order. hubby dearest ordered mee kari. I tasted his and decided to have that for that dinner and guess what ? I was having mee kari for dinner everyday for almost a week!

After a week, I decided that I had enough of mee kari and I changed to something else. I had ketam goreng, just crab with salt and tumeric, fried. Eat them as they were, not even with nasi, this went on for almost a week. I could easily finish more than one kg of fried crab in one go.hubby dearest would go to Kuala Kedah to get the fresh crabs and the sight of the crabs in the plastic bag just so .....undescribable.....goreng and makan or rather ratah panas2, the sweet and succulent crab meat just melted in my mouth. thanx dear for being patient with all my cravings and for being there. I couldn't remember what came after crab......Now, my eldest, Tsara' suka makan ketam, so does my second, Ameer, but not my third, Batrisyia, well, maybe not yet.

My second pregnancy, couldn't remember much about the cravings, only that I had an easy labour....whooosh..out came Ameer Izzat, in less than two hours. He was three weeks early. Just couldn't wait for 1997 to see the world. He's due in january 1997 but came out 2 days before the year ended. So he's a December baby, unlike Kakak who's a January baby. They shared the same due date, 19th January but born on different dates. Coincidentally, my youngest's due date was also on 19th January. Strange but true.

Batrisyia, my youngest, wasn't an easy pregnancy. I couldn't eat, couldn't and wouldn't, just no appetite for anything that I had to be warded and was given berbotol2 air jugak , stayed at the hospital for a couple of days.Difficult labour because of the eight year gap between her and my second one,

But all the pain, all the morning sickness, the stitches, the restless nights was worth it. They are my angels.

Kriiiiiing! Time to check the cake in the oven.

Sweet 21 Sya.....

Sya is 21...Sweet 21 Sya...

21 , Wow!, I have passed that number ages ago, I have even gone beyond the number which starts with 3. I remembered ( here we go again...reminiscing time...), ...when I celebrated my 21st birthday, I was still studying and my sister ( elder sister ) gave me her gold pendant which resembled the number 21 and therefore looked like a key ( which means that when you are 21, you have now obtained your freedom, freedom for what? i don't know but it was kinda sweet, to wear that gold pendant symbolising your newfound freedom)

guess what ?

I got to wear that key pendant for 8 years because my younger sister is eight years my junior. Sadly ( not really, after all it's just a pendant )she only got to wear it for one year because my next younger sister is only one year difference from her. I don't know where that key pendant is now because she is the youngest of the sisters and I don't know who she passed the key pendant to.

So sya, sweet 21 sya, enjoy your life as a 20something girl, your student years, your happy-go-lucky years for later on in life, it will never be the same again. Speaking of 20something, there was a TV series called "30something" and i remembered watching these episodes when I was 20 something and now I can't even call myself a 30something! This series is something like "Friends" but with even more serious topics about families , friends and relationships.

this oreo chocolate cheesecake is very "manja" as i told sya, that's why i can't deco much on it.thot I wanted to do something different for sya.

Sya wanted to try my cakes and she chose this oreo chocolate cheesecake after reading about it in my blog. Wise decision as this is my most sought after cheesecake. Her other choice was marble cheese brownies which is also another favourite.This is actuallly her second order after the first one for her sister, Athirah with the "Off they went to the land of fairies chocolate cupcakes". Listening to her telling about how her three year old sister enjoyed my chocolate cuppies was overwhelming. It felt so good knowing that what you made is appreciated and enjoyed by others as much as i have enjoyed making each and everyone of them.Thank you Sya for the lovely comments.

Happy 16th anniversary

16 years ago on June 6th, these two beautiful people were joined together in holy matrimony.
16 years later, they are no longer Hama and Nanie but are joined by two other beautiful little people who make their life complete.

Dareen Anas is One, Oreo Choc Cheesecake

Dareen, a very lovely name, as lovely as her mum and presumably as charming as her Dad....It was less than a year ago, that she was this tiny infant barely a week old and now she is one year old, or should i say one year young....time sure does fly....



"Kak Zue, kedai kek ( referring to my Zue's Oven , kedai tak dak lagi ) bukak tak, nak order kek oreo" was the question after salam was made.
"Always open my dear, except masa tidoq, nak ambik bila ni?
"Esok boleh tak?"
Fortunately, my schedule is not that tight and i can accomodate to this request, furthermore all the ingredients needed for this cheesecake are there so, no worries here.

My mind started working, re-playing all the designs and decos that i have made and came across. There is not much that can be done on an oreo choc cheesecake. I saw my ladybirds collection, so I thot, why don't I just spell out her name on top of each ladybird. ( I should have used a brighter cololur here )
This is the result, simple, minimal yet ...nice..... , I hope Anas and Diana will like it, as for Dareen, here's aunty zue wishing you a Happy Birthday, may you grow to be anak yang solehah.

Oreo choc cheesecake-double

Am I seeing double or are there two oreo cheesecakes here? No need to check your vision Zue.You made two for hubby's friends.


I was decorating cupcakes the other night when hubby's friends came over, since I had some left in the fridge, I served them with my specialty , this oreo chocolate cheesecake.


"Zue, can I have this cheesecake", one of them said.

"Wait a second, I am in the midst of decorating these cuppies," i said.

No, I don't want a second helping, I want to order this cheesecake"

Oh...Okay, when do you want it?"

"Up to you, whenever you are free, you can make 'em".

"Make that two, okay.."
