My first black and white...

" Saya nak tempah cupcakes " bertunang" untuk kakak saya", a sweet young voice on the other end of the line was saying.
As usual, I would ask when the intended date was. June 13th. That would be the end of the school holidays and I, we should already be back from our so-called planned "cuti-cuti malaysia" by then, so I agreed to her request. we set a date, we met and discussed and all was set:

one fondant chocolate cake ( very small, to fit a less than 8" box)


one set of carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting to be packed in a nicely decorated box

and the balance for "makan-makan".

the theme : black and white

special request: Kakak saya suka butterflies and ribbons.( and of course black and white )

the budget: asalkan cantik

What is required was spelt out and what was left was for me to think of the designs and the decorations for the cakes and cupcakes and the boxes ( means; another session of "keras tangan" project)

these are the results after a few sleepless nights,

the cupcakes with black blossom and white rose in a glass decorated with black and white 'swarowski"

the fondant chocolate cake with white butterfly (non-edible) and a fondant ribbon tied to the cake with a small bouquet of white roses right in the middle of the cake and a few black and white bloossoms with silver pearls. , nicely seated in a transparent box with white ribbons and laces with a single white flower with the black and white crystal like stones.

The "makan-makan" carrot cupcakes in a simple transparent box simply tied with a black ribbon, not to be outshined by the other two which were elaborately decorated for they will be given to the future groom's side later today

the black and white set ready to be collected by sue. My anxiousness and anxiety disappeared as soon as i heard and seen her expression when she saw the set. I am so glad that she likes it and so does her sister who also came to collect the set.

To Sue, sweet and lovely and soft spoken Sue ( sejuk perut Mak sue semasa mengandungkan Sue ) thank you for trusting me with this order. Despite the "sampai terbawak dlm mimpi", the search for that perfect black and white set for the theme, I am so happy doing this ( as usual ) and am so sad ( as usual ) to part with them.

tak lama lagi , giliran sue pulak.....wink.....
