L.O.V.E. red and white teddies

L.O.V.E
spells cinta,
sayang
adore
amore
ai
pyar
liebe

in whatever language it is said, it means only one thing, that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him ( once he proposed and she said 'yes' ), because she loves him or him/her. sometimes it could mean other things too, but i am not going to dwell on that on this beautiful Monday evening, with the aroma of the chocolate chip cookies lingering in the air, and had just awakened my nephew from his sleep because of the aroma. He woke up saying,
"hmm sedapnya bau ni"
......and followed his nose to my kitchen.....:-)

For Jessy, this is her way of expressing her love for her future life partner, her other half, her soulmate, or whatever name we would like to call it, but officially it is called her husband, by making these cute red and white teddies each holding an alphabet conveying the message to him, and this morning too, i woke up to a beautiful sms from her saying,

"The cakes were awesome and mouth watering zue. i have no doubt in ur work.Thank u so much, Jessy"

if those cupcakes were awesome to her , then these simple words were awesome to me, they just brighten up my morning and we went off for 'nasi gulai ikan termenung' breakfast with a big smile on my face and in my heart.:-)

A pair of the knife set for her cake cutting, soft pink she said, and I just added bits of pearls on each handle, just made it simply divine and gorgeous

a few pieces of chocolate cupcakes with buttercream and royal icing flowers for makan2'

and carrot walnut with cream cheeese frosting with red royal icing flowers

thank you Jessy, and wishing you and hubby, all the happiness in the world and am glad to be part of it

Read your labels, please.....

blueberry cheesecake- thank you Kak Tengku

blueberry cheesetarts- Thank you Ana..............
sedap sangat!
I don't know how many blueberry cheesetarts I have made since I started doing this and I have no problem with the dough until a few days ago. the recipe wasn't exactly at the back of my head because I still had to refer to recipe every time I am making them and that day was no exception.
the butter weighed, and into the mixer it went, followed by the flour, the egg, and the rest of the ingredient and every time I did that I got the perfect dough.......every time. However, on that day, I was baffled when my dough just wouldn't harden. it's very rainy, very slippery and very sticky.... $?7%$#(*^? ........ hello! what's going on here?
Is the egg too big? cos I was using the one size bigger egg than usual,
could that be the reason??
or perhaps, I left the butter at room temperature and it had gone soft a little bit?
What? What was the problem?
One mixture......gone! I could not use it because it did not turn into the dough that I wanted, i couldn't make the tart shell with it!
took another half block of butter from the fridge and this time I made sure that it came straight from the fridge and not left at room temperature.
weighed the flour again, the icing sugar ,again and turn the mixer on and I got the same result! the same disappointing result! still no dough for my blueberry cheese tarts' shells!

OMG! Not again! I modified a little, decided to add a little more flour into the mixture , about almost a cup more ( I wonder if it would still taste the same ) and yet I still could not get 'the' dough.

Twice! but I could not give up cos my customer was coming over in the evening for the BCT . I repeated the process, took half a block of butter from the fridge and started measuring all the other ingredients , just when I was about to take the flour, I noticed something else, there were two packets of flour , one with 'rose flour' written on the label and the other 'sponge mix flour'. and it hit me! I had been using the sponge mix flour and no wonder Stevie Wonder that I could not get the right dough! Silly me! that should teach me a lesson to read the labels every time
and true enough I got my beautiful dough with the third mix.Phew!
so, the moral of the story is.......Read your labels !!!!

walnuts everywhere.....

blueberry cheesetarts .... thank you Sakinah, her first time ordering this after having a taste of this BCT from her friend, and like they said, "Love at first bite", she immediately called me up to order some for her, and when she came to collect it, she made another order for the following week.
brownies in gift boxes ....thank you Kak Akmar, hese brownies are for her son, whom she will be visiting in Sabah and family too, whom she will meet before leaving for Sabah

brownies with walnut, dusted with icing sugar

chocolate chip cookies, ....thank you Nik , who likes to give good things to her friends, well, the saying, " Good things come in small package" , and this scrumptious chocolate chip cookies do come in small conainers and decorated simply with ribbons is just suitable as gifts.Errr...can I be your friend Nik...hehe....

chocolate chip cookies with walnut in jars , a doting mum's order for her son, who louuuurve these cookies so much, just like my son, who kept asking if there's any extra if he saw me baking them in my kitchen.

banana walnut cake with cream cheese frosting ...thank you Wati, whose son is in the same class as Batrisyia, not just classmate, but 'row'mate, sitting next to her in the class,

blueberry cheesetarts .....also suitable as gifts.

It's been a wonderful cheesy, bluberry, chocolatey, walnuty, bananaey week for me. I had such fun and great joy making them, but it gives me greater joy knowing that someone out there, in Gunung Keriang is enjoying and indulging herself in my BCT while writing her first novel, or someone in Suasana Permai is enjoying the brownies and cookies over a cup of coffee for late supper and bringing some for her son, or another someone in Suasana Permai enjoying herself the pleasure of giving the crunchy chocolate chip cookies to her friends, or someone's son in Taman Golf, is helping himself to my walnuty and chocolate chippy cookies in front of the telly, or someone is enjoying the banana walnut cake with the cream cheese frosting with her husband and kids and TokNgah.
No matter where or who they are , it gives me such pleasure knowing that they are enjoying themselves with goodies that came out from my little oven in my little kitchen. thank you.

Stitch

l'd like to order a cake for my friend. S3he likes 'Stitch', the voice was saying on the phone.

Stitch? I asked him

"binatang yang warna biru, yang jahat tu"

blur................. I still didn't comprehend what he was saying.

And I'd like another cake too for a brother, this coming Friday" and the call was made on Wednesday.

Why don't you come over to discuss further because I was not sure what the blue animal was. He came , yes, but the following day, Thursday evening and the birthday celebration was for tomorrow, Friday night. Then only I knew what he meant, Stitch, as in Lilo and Stitch. He would understand if I could not make it because it was very last minute and I also had another birhday cake due for tomorrow.

However, after having finished decorating the other order and it would be hours before the scheduled pick up time, I thot I'd give 'Stitch' a try. I had never made Stitch before, yup as usual, there is always a first time for everything. After having done the head, my son came down and he said, "Ma buat Stitch ke?"( a big smile and a loud "yes!!!!" from me )

next came my eldest daughter and so I asked her,

"What do you think I am making"

" Mama buat Stitch ke?" ( another big smile and a big " yessssa!!!" )

two out of two is good enough for me. Batrisyia was with me all along and so I don't need to ask her. she knew I was trying to make Stitch.

"Happy birthday" in Chinese

this means "brother" .

I know a word or two in Mandarin, like

wo puk ce tau= I don't know

wo puk mengpai = i don't understand

wo ai ni , i think many people know this one

ni hau ma? how are you

hau= fine

hen hau = very good(fine)

a grinning Stitch ....er minus the teeth.....:-)
ni hau ma Stitch?
hen hau!

'

since Lilo and Stitch live near the beach so I thot I'd make an 'ocean' sort of theme. Chong left the deco to me, all he wanted was a key shaped cake with number 21 on it.That number 21 is very important. yup, key and 21 can only mean " freedom", once you reach the age of 21, it means you have obtained the key to your freedom ( so to speak , but not necessarily )

white pearl of the ocean

the key shaped cake with number 21.I had a '21' key shaped pendant before. My elder sister started wearing it and she wore it for two years cos it's only two years gap between us but I got to wear the 21 key pendant for eight years! because there's an eight year gap between my younger sister and I . Unfortunately for her, she only got to keep it for one year because my other younger sister came one year later after her. I don't know where the '21' key pendant is now, probably still with my youngest sister.

Chong came to collect his cake together with "Brother, HAPPY BIRTHDAY cupcakes just before the celebration and i was so glad that I made that Stitch despite the last minute situation. He was very happy for he knew that his 'Joyce' loved Stitch very much

This cupcakes were for his "brother", and they were going to have a double birthday celebration. What better ways to celebrate a happy moment with the people dearest and closest to you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOTHER
and Happy Sweet 21 Birthday Joyce. a very thoughtful and sweet friend you have here Joyce who ordered this Stitch birthday cake for you.Thank you Chong for allowing me to create this cake for your Joyce.

ten pin bowling anyone?

when all pins are down, you call out "Strike:,
twice in a row, Double Strike
three times strike, you call it "turkey"
and four time s strike in a row, you call it " Four Bagger"

when you hit only a few pins on your first throw, you get another chance of throwing the ball at the remaining pins and when you hit the balance, you get a " spare" and make sure that you hit more pins on your next throw, if not you will waste the "spare' points that you would be getting.
it's not that difficult to bowl. just throw that heavy ball, aim it at the ten pins and try to knock them all down in one go. the wrst thing that you could do was get the ball in the drain!

I love bowling. My first experience with bowling, was during my first year studying. during our spare time, we went bowling, I think it was in Romford, went with a few friends and believe it or not, I got a " strike" with my very first throw! pure luck or rather beginner's luck they call it.After that it's either the left 'longkang' or the right 'longkang'.gradually I improved and quite impressive too, with my curved ball....hehhe.....
besides pool, bowling is one of my other favourite games .....We used to bowl almost every weekend

just throw the ball, aim it at the ten pins

and strike!

mmm... not in this case, but at least, bola tak masuk longkang!

When I first got a call for this cake, she didn't mention anything about bowling. All she wanted was a cake for her mum's boss, a very dedicated, commited and hard working Boss. , a male boss. What would I do, how would I decorate the cake? I had no clue when suddenly the sms came, he loved bowling and instantly this picture came to mind, and it made my decorating the cake much easier.
thank you Sya and your mum too and to this dedicated Boss, Happy Birthday, hope yo enjoy the 'bowling' chocolate cake and continue being a nice Boss.

Disney Tangled

Ahhhh.....phew! made it...... despite a little hiccup, alhamdulilah I managed to get this cake ready as per my customer's request. I have a few people to thank, CT , who is in Penang and her friend who lives in Pokok Sena but works in Penang, without their helps, this cake would not turn out this way. It would have been decorated differently

Marissa Izreen's mum's idea was incorporated onto this cake. I was only a making it happen for her, her idea to get Rapunzel's long hair all over the cake. At first I was not really sure how was I going to do it. I knew that Rapunzel was locked in a high tower by her stepmother, I knew that she had long hair which she used as a rope for her gentleman friend to climb up, but i did not know that she could get her hair ' tangled' around the cake!

"You'll be tangled up with our love forever", as requested by her mum, to be written on the Disney Tangled cake.
I like this, very sweet, very sincere and very comforting to know that this nine year old girl is loved and forever will be by her family, her mum ,dad, and her little brother.

thank you sharina for trusting me with yet another child of your's birthday, after the GLEE rainobw cake and now this Disney "Tangled" cake.Hope everyone will enjoy the cake, wishing Marissa Izreen, sedap nama ni, a Happy 9th birthday and may all her dreams come true.

Happy Birthday Nik....

okay, everyone ready, betulkan barisan masing2.....and sing after me

Happy birthday to you

happy birthday to you

happy birthday to you Niiiiiik

happy birthday to youuuuuuu......

carot walnut cupcakes with cream cheese frosting individually packed with a small ribbon tied to the cover, for her friends and colleagues at work

cream chesse-yes
carrot ( the most important ingredient in this cc) - yes
walnut-yes
all I need to find was the square casing
Nasib baik semua ada, for cases like this, mmmmmm last minute cases....., it's good to have all things ready but sometimes even when we do have everything in stock but, we are tied up with something else, some orders could not be entertained. therefore it is best, if possible to place the orders a few days in advance to avoid disappointment, sometimes we plan things in advance and sometimes it's the spur of the moment thing or decision, that happens. On my part, I tried the best I could and if Allah wills it, it will., insyaAllah.

especially for you Nik, my dearest Nik, We have known each other for a very long time, dari zaman solo ke zaman berdua, may this beautiful friendship last and remain sweet. Happy sweet dot dot, like some people said, age is just a number, stay sweet always. Semoga panjang umur murah rezeki, Nik and thank you so much for your continuous support.
