one busy thursday.....

From my little oven, came out all these in one day, 130 M size vanilla cupcakes with simple buttercream deco in a square casing complete with a purple ribbon glued to each one,thank you Nik ( thank you Ameer tolong mama put these cuppies in the casing, thank you Tsara' tolong clear the sink and thank you Batrisyia for always sounding so concern, takut mama letih, and thank you abah for supporting mama, always....., muah muah.....)

in between baking the order, I had some banana ( pisang emas ) so, decided to try out this banana muffin recipe from " little Cakes" and it turned out gorgeous! just perfect, for me, not too sweet, could feel the walnut inside and I finished four in one go, so good to eat it fresh and hot from the oven.....

an impromptu and additional order by J, she came to collect her cookies and saw the 130 cupcakes on my table, plus the other order ( purple and white fondant deco ) and decided to add another item to the 'merisek' goodies list, and so she requested me to prepare this nine cupcakes with simple purple and white buttercream deco, which she came to collect later, thank you J.

25 M size vanilla cupcakes with full fondant topping and deco for a merisek cum engagement ceremony for my neighbour, thank you Cik Nah and daughter, Naimah and congratz to the son,

teringat lagu "kalau berpacaran" ( suhaimi Meor HAssan, ana Rafali and Altimet),

sup cendawan, if only I knew.....

this simple lunch menu was prepared amidst my busy day of making the three sets of cupcakes( with lots and lots of figurines, from Sin chan to Spongebob to Dora the Eplorer and Pooh, etc....plus three cakes , busy or not, still need to eat and still need to get the right balance diet, right?

first time tried this mushroom soup, and its taste is divine! if only I knew I would have made this before, didn't know that cendawan tasted that good

big prawns sambal , the reason for my son took his second helpings

since I was out of time, already had the gravy/sambal from the prawns and soup from the mushroom and carrot, I just deep fried the crabs ( fresh from the market, all the way from Kuala Perlis which hubby bought the previous night),

and not forgetting the hard boild eggs for my youngest,

simple yet tasty and deeeelicious.........

in her list, there were 16 vanila cupcakes with buttercream, ok

16 carrot walnut with fondant, that should be okay too,plus

16 cupcakes with 8 different cartoon characters, whoa, i had never made these many figurines n one go before, but I am not the person to shy away from a cake challenge, but as writers experience writers block, I guess in this case, I experienced the same, so what should I call this block? cake decorator's block?:-) I could figure out how to do most of the figurines, except for one, perhaps you could have guessed which one. 16 cupcakes with figurines, two of each, which I prepared a few days earlier and finished decorating them on the cupcakes the night before

followed by these 16 carrot walnut with cream cheese frosting and fondant deco one chocolate moist for which her mum ordered for 'makan makan' with her grandchildren ( an additional order from the list )

one fruit cake ( this was the second one, the first one got burnt! human error )with buttercream roses and silver dregees ( similar design with the one we did in the class, except for the colour, change from purple to red )

these 'forbidden' comic books came to the rescue, they did come in handy at times like this. This title plus many other 'manga' comic books, from Naruto to Doraemon, to endless lists of titles, has been and still is, my kids' favourite read around the house, at every available opportunity, they would purchase these comic books and read at any available time and place. Even when we go back to kampung, they would bring these comic books with them and read in the car, and upon reaching their cousins house, would lock themselves in their cousins' room or while sitting on the sofa in the living room, continue reading there, plus the books that their cousins had too!

During my time, my childhood time, the only comic book that was allowed in the house are the BEANO book or DANDY, and Enid Blyton stories.....

kids coming home for lunch soon so, had to stop decorating the cakes and cupcakes and made them this simple but deeelicious lunch ( as the way Batrisyia described her hard boiled eggs....deeeelicius, mummy )

in between baking and decorating these cakes and cupcakes the previous night, came a request for 'kek gula hangus' from hubby dearest, after he smelled the burnt fruit cake in the oven! ( that is another story to tell)

made this additional chocolate cake in case she need this for her roses

tools and buttercream for her roses demo, red buttercream with rose nozzle, and green buttercream for the leaf, one rose holder, a few cones and four coloured fondants as per her request, to be used for her demo session.

these whole set, three boxes of cupcakes, two cakes plus one chocolate cake for her demo, and a basket of tools, to be driven to KL by her parents for the big day, good luck Lin and thank you to both Lin and her mum, kak ani.

my first panda, what a delight making that cute animal, has always been my favourite animal, cuddly and cute to look at but quite vicious and aggressive, I think. don't be misled by its look.

One busy Friday ......

the past few days had been quiet, I had time to check my e-mails and share my daily routines and of my Srikandi friends thru FB, sweep the dry leaves, do the laundry, some ironing, mopping , cooking, etc., everything except baking, but the routine was broken on friday when I started my morning with baking, not just for one person but three.( plus another one last minute order ) came to a total of four, all in the name of LOVE...... Cakes in different shapes and forms, flavours and deco but they all mean one thing: LOVE the love of parents for their children.
